Who She Is

Tonia grew up 100% athlete in the water and mountains of the great Pacific Northwest, taking full advantage of everything active the area has to offer.

Athlete & Coach
Today, Tonia is actively involved as a pilates and kiteboarding instructor. She is one of the first and foremost female influences in kiteboarding, having founded the Women's Kiteboarding Association and hosting kiteboarding clinics and camps for women since 2005. Tonia continues to teach women's camps and promote women in the sport. She also runs a kite school in the summer - Cascade Kiteboarding Academy in Hood River, Oregon.

Advocacy & Philanthropy
In 2007, Tonia co-founded Athletes for Cancer, which hosts adventure therapy programs for young adults with cancer. Tonia is also active in her community as a pilates instructor for community education, board member of the Columbia Gorge Kitesurfing Association, and Chair on the Children's Hospital Guild Assocation, Scotty's Guild.
